The stories are superb to me, after all. The character of Julien is my favorite his voice alone cracks me up. This show has recently ended, and while it didnt have as long a run as other shows, I think it should be remembered. Kevin Michael Richardson is great as Maurice as usual, fitting the mold of the character perfectly. Originally, All Hail King Julien started off as a Madagascar franchise featuring familiar faces as well as new ones.
The characters all are well thought out. Such as an episode where the whole kingdom becomes addicted to coffee. This series of animation is very detailed and sometimes can let to some deeper thoughts. This show is set in Madagascar before the penguins arrive and center entirely around the lemurs, in particular King Julien and his somewhat crazy exploits. You can almost feel the fun these guys have doing this. Leaving Maurice with more fires to put out than normal.
You could consider this an upgrade of the penguin series. It does a great job of poking fun at stuff we see these days like media bias, gun control, religion etc. They just need to release season three for me now. So what are you still doin here? I had to vent my appreciation but you have just yet to discover it for yourself. He was dethroned and kicked out of his kingdom by his own brother Koto, who has taken over his crown. I could go on and on about why I liked this series but Ill narrow it down to the main things I appreciated. Not only the plot threads run throughout many episodes, even seasons Season 6 or the Exiled season is particularly strong in this category , but what happens to the characters continues to effect them and the jungle for the entire series.
As of today, the streaming giant has not yet made any official announcement regarding a possible second installment of this show, but we are confident that there will be another season. He does a good job. This looking for something to pass the time with my 16 month old I can't stand Disney channel and most cartoons are terrible and empty for real content. Not only that, it develops the other side characters including Mort, Maurice, and Clover as they try to gather an army that would take down Koto. Making this one of the most hilarious shows in years.
However, his goal hasn't changed at all----to make his people happy. I get a message saying I have to have at least ten lines of text and I think I have twelve. Both series are executive produced by Mitch Watson and Bret Haaland and produced by Dreamworks Animation Television. The original All Hail King Julien sits comfortably at a solid 7. Yes, even for the background characters. I could watch this on my own and I'm 34 and have zero interest in cartons typically. The voices are much better than the movies, less disturbing and weird.
I could go on and on, even the guest stars do great work. However, Julien is no longer king. With his loyal sidekicks Maurice and Mort, they meet a whole new cast of colorful animals, including ambitious head of security Clover and the villainous Foosa. To those who don't know, the original All Hail King Julien series was supposed to take a Game of Thrones parody route, but DreamWorks Animation used it to an advantage here. Real humor is clean in my opinion, and All Hail King Julien is always clean no matter what. I would not really say that about the first couple seasons which were still pretty good. To those who haven't seen it or the original series, go check it out and you won't regret it.
Still, throughout the series the humor is actually, well, real humor compared to that raunchy garbage in about half of every comedy in the last decade. The animation is excellent as well. The humor is not just funny, it is smart and sometimes surprisingly timely. My personal favorite is Horst. Maurice, Ted, Pancho, Clover and Sage and a few new faces are all back in this sequel to the All Hail King Julien series.
With the help of his advisors and friends he always comes out on top. This show is is amazing for anyone to watch where Kong is a mess. But few will deny that one of the most memorable was Julian lemur, who considered himself almost the king of the world. I recently saw some episodes of the Netflix Kong King of the Apes and that show is sub-par to this one on every level. Need more like this one 10 stars is not enough I would give 100% if it were an option. I have to say that Mort seems to be the favorite in our household. She is also masterfully voice acted by India de Beaufort, and actress I am not familiar with but that I will give my kudos to and follow from this point.
New characters are introduced, chief among which is King Juliens new security adviser. Morts voice actor I believe it is Andy Richter is fantastic as well, ranging from cute to creepy instantaneously. I actually enjoy watching this with my son. Danny Jacobs is honestly more Julian to me than Sasha Baron Cohen. I have seen and loved many things that Jeff Bennett has voiced over and he didn't disappoint on his characters.
It is funny, gives you a good feeling and through it all you can feel the effort and care that went into every facet of this show. A paranoid female lemur by the name of clover. And instead of taking sides of these issues it makes fun of the fact that they are issues in the first place and the characters take it from there. This has a good story line creative ideas and truly is good smart funny show for children. The writing is very creative and over the top hilarious with the obvious. Julian, Mort and Maurice weve seen before. The animation is spot on, the humor is perfect and the writing is great.
