I use synthetic oil and service my cars regularly. It is a great car and a pre-owned one makes great sense. Looking for alternative solutions to this expensive venture. New part ordered and replaced.
Brought back in right before 100,000 miles and Nissan replaced at no cost. They have a warranty for my car's transmission. I am really angry right now. They cannot treat their customers like that and expect to keep them coming back. The additional cost may be higher than installing a reman or rebuilt transmission--not to mention the extra downtime.
Looks aren't the only thing that sets it apart from the competition, though, as the Murano has a powerful V6 engine that makes it a joy to drive. I hope you all have some good luck with them as it seems they are not a car to drive any more than 50,000 miles if you are lucky and then try to unload it on some unsuspecting person. After 1000 miles I am to return to dealer. Can you comment on this please. Unfortunately the car was totaled the other day when another vehicle blew through a stop sign. You know how those shops work with you, in a way that you can't back out later. The steering is almost like a sports car in its immediacy and reliable feedback.
Took to an independent shop for final repair. Felt as if you were starting in 2nd gear, just no acceleration when you step on the gas. Just that the gears transfer case actually lost a tooth or something else that caused the pinion to be halfway ground up. I will be looking from time to time to see what you all are posting on it. At first it was a little odd that I did not feel the car shift, but it now seems normal. Reinstall new transmission in reverse order. That is what I would consider harsh driving conditions, stop and go city driving, and 300,000 miles is incredible for city-only driving, and in only a matter of a few years.
